I just saw the latest tropical activity in the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific and here is what we got (yes I enjoy the funktop rainbow IR satellite imagery):
Hurricane Celia, category five right now. Look at how annular this hurricane looks.
Here is Hurricane Darby. This storm is only a category 2 right now. It isn’t forecast to strengthen too much. This storm is definitely not as organized as Celia is.
And now in the Atlantic we have a tropical wave that has about a 70% chance of development today or tomorrow. They are sending out Air Force Reconnaissance later today to check this out. This is heading towards the Yucatan Peninsula. Will it end up in the Gulf of Mexico, only time will tell.
