Over the last several days the U.S. has seen softball sized hail, hurricane strength wind gusts, several feet of snow, and flooding rains.
Just yesterday there were 6 tornadoes reported, 3 in Kansas and 3 in Oklahoma. There were a few reports of hail over two inches in diameter and there were a few wind gusts over 80mph.
Beckley, WV saw 1.55″ of rain yesterday breaking its record of 1.18 inches that fell in 1974. Charleston, WV also broke its rainfall record yesterday having received 1.92″ of rain.
Mystic Lake, MT and Alta, UT have received almost 3 feet of snow this month. Several locations in Wyoming; including Lander, Riverton, Story, Jeffery City, Dayton; received over a foot of snow this month. Snow is not out of the ordinary for the mountainous locations out west during May but several locations have received over double their normal amount of snowfall so far this month.
It sure isn’t quiet weatherwise.
